These were measured by an el-cheapo $100 radar gun that has a 15 ft. range.
The radar device may understate the actual speed
depending on the angle at which the ball comes towards it.

If a 65 mph ball comes toward it 10 degrees off the perpendicular,
it will show 64 (65 * cosine(10) = 64.01)
<br>
The ball also may slow down due to wind resistance by the time
it reaches close enough to be sensed. But all these reading have
been taken at pretty close range, so this effect can't be a real
factor.
